We are seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef specializing in cakes and desserts to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, baking, decorating, and presenting a wide range of cakes and desserts from scratch. This role requires strong technical skills in cake production, recipe development, sugar paste (fondant) work, buttercream and cream cake decoration, as well as a passion for innovation and staying updated with market trends.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and bake cakes, sponges, fillings, frostings, and desserts from scratch.

Design, decorate, and finish cakes using buttercream, fresh cream, ganache, fondant, and other decorative techniques.

Create custom cakes for birthdays, weddings, graduations, corporate events, and special occasions.

Develop new recipes, cake designs, and dessert concepts based on market trends and customer preferences.

Innovate and introduce seasonal products, unique flavors, and creative presentations.

Ensure consistency in product quality, taste, appearance, and presentation.

Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.

Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering ingredients and supplies when needed.

Work efficiently to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.

Collaborate with the team to improve operations, productivity, and product offerings.

Stay informed about industry trends, decorating techniques, and emerging dessert concepts.

Train and support junior pastry staff when required.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Cake Artist, or Cake Decorator.

Strong knowledge of cake baking, pastry production, and dessert preparation.

Skilled in both cream cake and fondant cake decoration.

Ability to create and modify recipes independently.

Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and product development.

Good understanding of current cake and dessert market trends.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Positive attitude, reliability, and professional work ethic.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and peak seasons when required.

Preferred Skills

Experience in modern cake decorating techniques.

Knowledge of cost control and recipe standardization.

Ability to create premium and luxury cake designs.

Experience working in a commercial bakery, café, or pastry kitchen.
