Mobile Workshop Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

ACT Group, a 100% Saudi-owned heavy equipment and industrial services company serving major oil & gas clients including Aramco and SABIC, is hiring an experienced Mobile Workshop Mechanical Engineer. This role is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy mobile equipment to ensure maximum fleet uptime and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mobile/heavy equipment including loaders, dozers, excavators, cranes, and forklifts

• Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical control systems

• Follow OEM manuals, manufacturer guidelines, and industry best practices for all repair and maintenance work

• Prepare technical reports, maintenance logs, and documentation

• Coordinate with the workshop team, supervisors, and clients to ensure timely equipment turnaround

• Support preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or equivalent technical qualification

• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in mobile/heavy equipment maintenance and repair

• Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical control systems

• Familiarity with OEM manuals and maintenance standards (Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, or similar)

• Good English communication skills (verbal and written)

• Strong coordination and reporting skills

• Prior experience in oil & gas, construction, or industrial services sector preferred

• Transferable Iqama preferred (for candidates currently in KSA)
