A domestic (or private household) cook in Bahrain prepares daily meals for a family, manages grocery inventory, and maintains strict kitchen hygiene. Salaries typically range from BHD 250.000 to 270.000 per month, and the role often includes free accommodation, visa sponsorship, and health insurance.

Core Responsibilities

• Daily Meal Preparation: Plan and cook breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks tailored to the family’s dietary requirements, preferences, and cultural traditions (e.g., Arabic, Indian, or Mediterranean cuisine).

• Menu Planning: Create rotating weekly or monthly menus with household approval, adjusting for children’s needs or specific diets.

• Grocery & Inventory Management: Shop for fresh ingredients, track pantry stock, manage food budgets, and ensure perishable items are stored properly.

• Kitchen Sanitation: Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized cooking area, adhering to food safety standards.

• Event Catering: Assist with preparing food for private dinners, family gatherings, or special occasions when needed.

Job Requirements

• Culinary Experience: 2 to 5 years of proven experience in private residences, villas, or hospitality.

• Multi-Cuisine Expertise: Ability to prepare a mix of local Arabic, Western, and Asian cuisines.

• Hygiene & Safety: Deep understanding of food safety, safe knife handling, and proper food storage.

• Language Skills: Basic ability to read and write in English to follow recipes (Arabic or Hindi is a strong advantage depending on the household).
