Manual Production Manager – Gold Jewellery Manufacturing

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manual Production Manager to oversee the production of gold jewellery using traditional handcrafting techniques, manual tools, and dies. The ideal candidate must have strong practical knowledge of manual jewellery manufacturing processes, gold melting, alloy preparation, production planning, quality control, and loss management. Experience in polishing and finishing processes is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

Supervise and manage daily manual jewellery production activities.

Plan and schedule production to meet delivery deadlines.

Allocate work efficiently among craftsmen, goldsmiths, polishers, and support staff.

Monitor production progress and ensure targets are achieved.

Manual Jewellery Manufacturing

Oversee jewellery production using manual techniques, dies, hand tools, and traditional manufacturing methods.

Ensure proper execution of cutting, forming, soldering, assembling, and finishing processes.

Guide and train workers on best manufacturing practices.

Gold Melting & Alloy Preparation

Manage gold melting operations and alloy mixing according to required karat standards.

Ensure accurate calculations for gold, silver, copper, and other alloy additions.

Monitor melting losses and implement measures to minimize metal loss.

Maintain proper records of metal usage and recovery.

Loss Control & Metal Accountability

Monitor production losses at every stage of manufacturing.

Investigate and report unusual gold losses.

Implement procedures to maximize metal recovery from dust, polishing waste, and production scraps.

Ensure strict control and accountability of precious metals.

Quality Control

Inspect products during and after production.

Ensure jewellery meets company quality standards and customer specifications.

Identify production defects and implement corrective actions.

Coordinate with quality control personnel to improve workmanship.

Polishing & Finishing

Supervise polishing and finishing operations.

Ensure proper surface finishing, buffing, cleaning, and final presentation of jewellery.

Assist in troubleshooting polishing and finishing issues.

Team Leadership

Train, motivate, and supervise production staff.

Evaluate employee performance and provide technical guidance.

Promote workplace safety and good housekeeping practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in manual gold jewellery manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of traditional jewellery-making techniques and die production.

Experience in gold melting, alloy preparation, and karat calculations.

Good understanding of polishing and finishing processes.

Strong knowledge of loss control and precious metal management.

Ability to read production drawings and jewellery specifications.

Leadership and team management skills.

Good problem-solving and organizational abilities.
