Job Summary

The Senior Control & Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of control systems, instrumentation, and automation equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of instrumentation and control systems.

Install, calibrate, test, and commission field instruments, transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and PLC/DCS systems.

Troubleshoot faults in electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic instrumentation.

Interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.

Carry out loop checking, functional testing, and system commissioning activities.

Ensure all maintenance work complies with company procedures, HSE standards, and industry regulations.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and calibration reports.

Support plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and commissioning projects.

Supervise and guide junior technicians during maintenance activities.

Coordinate with operations and engineering teams to minimize equipment downtime.

Qualifications

Diploma or Technical Certificate in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum of 7 years of experience in instrumentation and control maintenance in oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or industrial facilities.

Strong knowledge of PLC, DCS, SCADA, field instrumentation, and control valves.

Familiarity with calibration equipment and diagnostic tools.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Good troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience with major control systems such as Honeywell, Yokogawa, Emerson, Siemens, or ABB.

Knowledge of ISA standards and industrial safety practices.

Valid certification in instrumentation calibration or related technical training is an advantage.
