Installation, Costing & Estimation)

Summary

A skilled Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC system installation, costing, and

estimation, responsible for planning, executing, and supervising mechanical works in

commercial, residential, and industrial projects. Ensures accurate project costing, efficient

installation, compliance with standards, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare HVAC system designs, load calculations, equipment selection, and technical

documentation.

• Develop cost estimates, BOQs, material take-offs, and pricing for HVAC projects.

• Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate

proposals.

• Supervise and monitor HVAC installation activities including ducting, piping,

insulation, and equipment installation.

• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements

are met.

• Conduct site inspections, verify installation quality, and ensure compliance with

ASHRAE, SMACNA, and local codes.

• Prepare and review shop drawings, as-built drawings, and method statements.

• Evaluate vendor quotations and negotiate pricing to optimize project cost.

• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.

• Troubleshoot HVAC system issues and support commissioning activities.

• Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality control, and project timelines.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and installation practices.

• Proficiency in cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and tendering.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.

• Familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, and local building codes.

• Hands-on experience with site supervision and coordination.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP (optional), and MS Office.

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• 3–5 years of experience in HVAC installation, costing, and estimation (adjust as

needed).

• Experience in construction, contracting, or MEP industries.
