ndustrial Mechanic – Job Responsibilities

Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and production equipment to ensure maximum operational efficiency and reliability.

Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems to minimize equipment downtime.

Dismantle, repair, overhaul, and reassemble machinery components, including pumps, compressors, gearboxes, bearings, motors, valves, and other rotating equipment.

Install, align, calibrate, and commission new machinery and equipment in accordance with engineering specifications and manufacturer guidelines.

Conduct precision alignment, balancing, and adjustment of mechanical systems to optimize equipment performance and extend service life.

Fabricate, modify, and repair machine parts using welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, and machining equipment when required.

Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment schematics to perform maintenance and repair activities effectively.

Monitor equipment performance and identify potential failures, recommending corrective actions and process improvements to enhance reliability and productivity.

Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting leaks, pressure issues, and component failures.

Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and condition monitoring of machinery to prevent unexpected breakdowns.

Ensure compliance with company safety policies, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Coordinate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to schedule repairs and minimize production disruptions.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and spare parts inventories using maintenance management systems.

Assist in equipment upgrades, plant shutdowns, commissioning projects, and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency and reducing maintenance costs.

Train and support junior technicians and operators on proper equipment operation and basic maintenance practices.
