Job Summary:
The ideal candidate is an absolute expert in Container Operations from A to Z. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of container movement, equipment control, inventory management, and providing high-level operational customer service to shipping lines and clients. If you don’t know container operations thoroughly, this role is not for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Full Container Control: Manage and track container status from discharge to empty return, ensuring optimal equipment utilization.
Inventory Management: Responsible for preparing, updating, and reconciling the daily/weekly Container Inventory Reports to ensure complete visibility of all equipment (Full/Empty status).
Operational Documentation: Smoothly execute and coordinate Container Release Orders (CRO), Delivery Orders (DO), and Equipment Interchange Receipts (EIR).
Demurrage & Detention Management: Monitor free-time periods closely, calculate demurrage/detention, and proactively resolve container delays to minimize costs.
High-Level Customer Service: Act as the core contact point for clients and shipping lines, handling complex operational inquiries and providing accurate, real-time updates on container status.
Internal Routing: Gather all operational paperwork and coordinate seamlessly with the internal documentation/Fasah team for customs routing.
Requirements:
Experience: Proven experience specifically in Container Operations / Equipment Control and Inventory Management within a Shipping Agency.
Industry Mastery: Complete understanding of maritime terminology, container types, port operational flows, and container financial components (THC, Demurrage, Detention).
Language Skills: Fluent and professional English (written and spoken) is an absolute must for daily email correspondence with international shipping lines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic (Native or Bilingual proficiency)
Skills: Strong negotiation skills, problem-solving mindset under pressure, and sharp attention to numbers.
Location: Must be currently residing in Jeddah.
