Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Civil Quantity Surveyor to join our team. You will manage the financial and contractual aspects of civil engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered within budget, on time, and to the highest standards. This role involves cost estimation, quantity take-offs, tendering, cost control, and variation management for infrastructure and civil works projects.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and budgets for civil engineering projects (earthworks, roads, drainage, bridges, utilities, reinforced concrete, etc.).

Review architectural, structural, and civil drawings to perform detailed quantity take-offs and measurements.

Develop tender documents, evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations, and negotiate contracts for best value.

Monitor project costs, track variations and change orders, and prepare regular cost reports and forecasts.

Conduct value engineering and risk assessments to optimize costs without compromising quality.

Liaise with project managers, engineers, architects, clients, contractors, and subcontractors on all commercial matters.

Manage interim valuations, payments, and final accounts.

Ensure compliance with contracts, specifications, and relevant regulations/standards.

Support procurement strategies and maintain strong relationships with vendors and supply chain partners.

Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Professional certification (e.g., RICS, or equivalent local/international QS accreditation) is preferred.

X+ years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering or construction projects (experience in infrastructure/groundworks is highly advantageous).

Strong knowledge of civil works measurement methods, contracts (e.g., FIDIC or local equivalents), and cost management techniques.

Proficiency in relevant software: AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel (advanced), CostX, Candy, Primavera, or similar QS/estimating tools.

Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team under pressure.

Minimum Experience 5 years
