OVERVIEW:
An Accountant includes managing financial records for private clients, governments or organizations., preparing financial statements and reports, administer and audit accounts and prepare tax returns & overseeing accounting operations, supervising junior staff, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Key duties involve performing reconciliations, managing budgets, assisting with audits, and analyzing financial data to support management decisions. Candidates should have a strong attention to detail and excellent analytical and communication skills; The accountant also tracks the financial health of the organization or client and takes action to correct issues to prevent financial calamity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare and analyses monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
• Perform and review account reconciliations for balance sheets, vendors, and bank statements.
• Oversee the ongoing maintenance of accounts.
• Entering all Payment voucher, Deposit, Journal and all accounting related work.
• Manage and maintain the general ledger, including processing journal entries.
• Assist in preparing and managing budgets and forecasts.
• Support internal and external audits and oversee basic auditing tasks.
• Ensure the company is compliant with financial regulations, tax laws (like VAT), and accounting principles.
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
• Ensure payroll is accurate and records are maintained.
• Coordinating & Support management in the accurate production of budgets.
• Reconcile accounts including receivable and payable.
• Ensure cashflow is utilized properly and protect reserves.
• Provide tax planning strategies in accordance with existing legislation.
• Create financial forecasts and analyze risk with the accounting team to prepare the budget.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
• Requires a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency with accounting software and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal teams and senior management.
• Strong attention to detail is crucial for ensuring accuracy in financial records.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work various shifts.
• Excellent math skills.
