Job Summary: The Cold Store Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting refrigeration systems, cold storage rooms, and associated equipment to ensure optimal performance and temperature control for stored goods. Key Responsibilities: Inspect, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems (compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves, sensors, etc.). Monitor temperature and humidity levels in cold rooms and ensure proper operation within set parameters. Perform regular preventive maintenance on refrigeration and electrical systems. Identify and rectify system faults (mechanical, electrical, or refrigerant leaks). Maintain records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and system performance. Check refrigerant levels and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations. Calibrate control panels, thermostats, and pressure switches. Support installation and commissioning of new cold store chambers or equipment. Respond promptly to breakdowns and minimize downtime. Ensure all safety procedures are followed during maintenance and repairs. Report to Maintenance Supervisor or Facility Manager on maintenance activities and required parts.
