Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Officer with a strong background in Asian cuisine ingredients, suppliers, and import channels. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing high-quality ingredients and supplies for our Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and Pan-Asian restaurant outlets while maintaining cost efficiency, supplier relationships, and compliance with local food and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers of Asian cuisine ingredients (fresh, dry, frozen, and specialty items).

Manage procurement activities from requisition to delivery across multiple restaurant branches.

Monitor inventory levels and forecast procurement needs in coordination with the Executive Chef and outlet managers.

Develop relationships with both local and international (especially Asian region) suppliers.

Ensure all purchases are compliant with health, safety, and import regulations in Bahrain.

Maintain procurement records and reports; evaluate vendor performance periodically.

Collaborate with finance on budgeting and cost control initiatives.

Research and introduce alternative suppliers and products to improve quality and margins.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of experience in food and beverage procurement, preferably within the Asian cuisine restaurant sector.

Strong knowledge of Thai, Japanese, Chinese, or Korean food products and cooking ingredients.

Familiarity with international sourcing, customs documentation, and import processes.

Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Fluent in English (spoken and written); knowledge of an Asian language is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Hospitality, or related field.

Experience with restaurant chains or hospitality groups.

Understanding of Bahraini labor and commercial laws related to procurement.
